A mobility scooter provides independence and confidence in everyday travel. When it begins to lose power, makes unusual noises or responds differently, an inspection at the right time can help prevent a more serious fault.
Signs that a mobility scooter needs attention
1. The battery lasts much less than before
Reduced range may be caused by worn batteries, the charger, poor connections or even tyre pressure. The complete system should be checked before replacing components.
2. The scooter will not start or stops unexpectedly
A starting fault can have several causes: a discharged battery, loose connectors, fuses, controls or electrical components. A proper diagnosis helps avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.
3. The brakes, steering or wheels behave differently
If the scooter pulls to one side, vibrates, brakes unevenly or has worn tyres, it should be inspected before it is used normally again.
4. Unusual noises, warning lights or error signals appear
Beeps and flashing error codes often help identify the source of a problem. Make a note of when they appear and how many times they repeat, as this can be useful during the inspection.
5. It has not been used for a long time
After a long period without use, it is advisable to check the batteries, charging system, tyre pressure, brakes and connections before travelling again.
How is a repair handled?
At Total Mobility we begin by asking for the make, model, location and a brief description of the fault. We then contact the customer to assess the case and arrange an inspection of the scooter.
Once it has been examined, we explain the diagnosis and quotation. We cannot provide a final price before inspecting the vehicle because similar symptoms may have different causes.
